University of Alberta
The University of Alberta (U of A) is a public research
university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1908 by Alexander
Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta and Henry Marshall Tory, its
first president, it is widely recognized as one of the top universities in
Canada. The university's current enrolment is over 36,000, placing it among the
five largest universities in the country. The main campus covers 50 city blocks
with over 90 buildings directly across the North Saskatchewan River from
downtown Edmonton.
The University of Alberta consistently ranks as one of the top universities in
Canada. Newsweek (International Edition) in 2006 rates the top 5 Canadian
universities (world rankings in brackets). Webometrics Ranking of World
Universities in 2008 rates the top 5 Canadian universities (world rankings in
brackets). The Times Higher Education Supplement in 2008 rates the top 5
Canadian universities (world rankings in brackets).

Alberta College of Art & Design
The Alberta College of Art & Design (ACAD) is located in
Calgary on the North Hill overlooking the Bow River and the downtown skyline, in
a 245,000 square foot (23,000 m²) building designed to house the college in
1973. ACAD's close proximity to downtown and The University of Calgary, via the
C-Train (Calgary's light rail transit) provides students with easy access to the
city's galleries, museums and cultural events. The current president is Lance
Carlson.

Athabasca University
Athabasca University, headquartered in Athabasca, Alberta,
is a fully accredited institution specialized in the delivery of distance
education courses and programs. Athabasca University is also recognized as one
of the fastest growing universities in Canada. Courses are offered in both
English and French. Athabasca University has improved geographical accessibility
through multiple campuses spread throughout the province and by offering
distance education. The university is especially popular with students who are
disabled, overseas, or looking after family members, single parents who need a
degree to get ahead in their careers, members of the Canadian Forces, Olympic
competitors, athletes, prison inmates, students who are working full time and
students who need an extra course to add on to their degrees or diplomas at a
traditional university. A high school diploma is not required for admission;
however, there is an age minimum of sixteen years. They serve 32,000 students
per year. In 2004, Athabasca's Executive MBA was rated in the top 75 by the
Financial Times, the only executive MBA on the list that is delivered entirely
online. Part of the University's holdings include a residence for the President.

Augustana University College
Augustana University College was a Lutheran college in
Camrose, Alberta, Canada, from 1910 until its 2004 merger with the University of
Alberta. Now known as the Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta, it
began its operations in 1910 under the name Camrose Lutheran College. In its
early years, it provided a significant opportunity for secondary education and
was recognized for the quality of its academic program and its endeavour to
provide an education that extended beyond the intellect to the "heart and its
affections." As such, the university emphasized residence life and students were
highly involved in on-campus programs which formed a pivotal part of the
university experience. Augustana began offering university work in the fall of
1959 as an affiliated college of the University of Alberta and added a second
year of the university transfer program in 1969. It became Alberta's first
private university in 1985 when the first B.A. degrees were granted.

The Banff Centre is an arts, cultural, and educational
institution and conference facility located in Banff, Alberta. A part of
Alberta's post-secondary educational system, the Centre offers professional
career development and creative support in the performing and fine arts,
mountain culture, and leadership development.

Canadian University College
Canadian University College is a private Christian
University affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist. Canadian University
College is part of the Seventh-day Adventist system of higher education.
Although a significant number of students come from an Seventh-day Adventist
background, all students who are interested in living and studying in a
Christian context are welcome to apply. The College is a degree-granting
institution and teacher's college in Lacombe, Alberta. It offers more than
twenty fully-accredited undergraduate degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
The college has an enrollment of about 400, with a student-to-teacher ratio of
ten to one.

DeVry University and DeVry Institute of Technology are
divisions of DeVry, Inc. (NYSE: DV), one of the largest publicly held,
international, higher educational organizations in North America, and the parent
organization for DeVry University, Ross University, Apollo College, Western
Career College, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Becker Professional Review and
Advanced Academics, Inc. DeVry University provides career-oriented undergraduate
and graduate degree programs in technology, science, business, the arts, and
management. Students access these programs through a North American system of
more than 90 locations as well as through DeVry University Online. DeVry's
diverse and geographically dispersed student population totals more than 65,000.

Grant MacEwan College
Grant MacEwan College is an educational institution located
in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As of 2006, the institution refers to itself in
all publicity materials simply as MacEwan without the word college, reflecting a
change in direction toward fields normally associated with universities in
Canada. The college is currently considering a name change to Grant MacEwan
University. MacEwan has four campuses in Edmonton. The school newspaper,
Intercamp, is a member of the Canadian University Press.

Grande Prairie Regional College
Grande Prairie Regional College, often abbreviated GPRC, is
a comprehensive community college with two campuses [Grande Prairie and
Fairview, Alberta]]. Over 2,000 students in credit programs, and over 6,000 in
workforce training and recreational programs, attend GPRC and Fairview College
Campus annually. The college offers a number of apprenticeship and academic
programs including certificates and diplomas, university studies, academic
upgrading, and workforce development courses in various subjects.

Keyano College
Keyano College is a fully accredited comprehensive
community college headquartered in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada which serves
post-secondary courses and programs to communities throughout Northern Alberta
through both in-classroom and distance education. Keyano College also
collaborates with Athabasca University,University of Lethbridge,University of
Alberta and University of Calgary to enable students to earn academic degrees in
many areas without leaving Fort McMurray. A large portion of the student
population is registered in skilled trades training for employers in the Fort
McMurray oilsands; and also offers a full range of academic degree and diploma
programs. Keyano is currently the only institution in Canada offering a Musical
Instrument Repair Cooperative Education diploma.

King's University College (Edmonton)
The King's University College is a private liberal arts
college, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The University was founded by
members of the Christian Reformed Church who saw a need for a regional,
trans-denominational, Christian college in Western Canada. In December 1970, a
constitution, and statement of principles gave written expression to their
vision of Christian Higher education. King's is a member of the Council for
Christian Colleges and Universities.

Lakeland College
Lakeland College is a post-secondary college in Alberta. It
is publicly funded, and maintains two campuses in Lloydminster and Vermilion.
Lakeland College also has a learning centre in Sherwood Park. Lakeland has
nearly 7,000 full- and part-time students.
Lakeland College is Canada’s only inter-provincial college, as it serves both
Alberta and Saskatchewan residents, following a partnership agreement between
the governments of the two provinces. The city of Lloydminster stretches on both
sides of the provincial border.

The University of Lethbridge (also known as U of L) is a
public university located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, with two other urban
campuses in Calgary and Edmonton. The main building sits among the coulees on
the west side of the Oldman River. The university press, The Meliorist, is a
member of CUP.

Lethbridge College
Lethbridge College, formerly Lethbridge Community College,
was opened in 1957 as the first public community college in Canada. Over 7,000
students attend the Lethbridge, Alberta, institution.
Lethbridge College offers a range of different educational opportunities,
including business and management, design and technology, justice studies,
health and human services, agriculture and the environment, trades, preparatory
studies, and university transfer. The college provides vocational training in
more than 50 career areas via one-year certificates, two-year diplomas,
apprenticeships, applied degrees, and pre-employment programs.

Medicine Hat College
Medicine Hat College is a public, board governed,
comprehensive community college serving a large region of southeastern Alberta
and southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. The MHC is located in the city of
Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. MHC has been serving students in southeastern
Alberta and beyond since 1965. MHC’s main campus services almost 2,500 students
each year with another 200 attending Brooks Campus, located 100 km west of
Medicine Hat.

NorQuest College is a publicly-funded community college in
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The student body numbers over 10,800, with 3,800 full
time and 7,000 part-time students. More than 2,000 students graduate each year.
In addition to health care, allied health, human services, business and industry
career programs, NorQuest offers expertise in adult literacy, English as a
Second Language (ESL), intercultural education, Aboriginal education, academic
upgrading, and learner supports for students with disabilities.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is
located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and provides technical training and applied
education designed to meet the demands of Alberta's industries. NAIT is
currently home to over 84,000 students in over 250 full time programs. By the
close of the 2007/08 academic year, NAIT had served more than 84,000 customers –
up from 80,769 the previous year. The 2007/08 student numbers include 8,754
full-time students, 14,379 apprentice registrants and 61,227 registrants in
part-time studies. The university press, The Nugget, is a member of CUP.

community college in north-central Alberta, Canada.
Administrative offices are located in Slave Lake and Grouard, Alberta, with a
staff of more than 275 working in more than 30 campuses. The college connects
students from throughout the region with the latest in real-time teaching and
learning techonolgy to create manageable class cohorts.

property of the McElheran family farm near the community of Three Hills,
Alberta.

Kainai Nation reserve in southern Alberta, Canada with a campus in Lethbridge.

Red Deer College
Established in 1964, Red Deer College is a public
comprehensive college of approximately 20,000 students located in Red Deer,
Alberta, Canada. RDC was built for a smaller semi-rural community but, in the
four and a half decades since its founding, the city has grown into the third
largest in the province. The college has made an effort to maintain the sense of
community that fosters learning with small class sizes, hands-on learning, and
instructors who are accessible and interested in their student's success.

St. Mary's University College is a private Catholic liberal
arts institution in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The college officially
became a university college on June 16, 2004, and granted its first degrees on
September 25, 2004. St. Mary's celebrated its 20th anniversary as a chartered
educational institution on September 18, 2006.
